Quite simply, the rarest Rolex in the world. Though produced in a limited series of eight pieces in two runs of four, the first four( or early series ) being the most valuable, reference 6270 only came to pass by request of the Sultan of Oman. Up until this the Daytona was only available with a brilliant cut diamond bezel in the form of reference 6269 and though also available with a pave dial, the subsidiary dials were champagne and not the royal purple colors of the Sultan. It is a fact that the other seven reference 6270's are only in existence due to the normal Rolex practice of cost effectiveness when it comes to the manufacture of bespoke pieces. With its case back carrying his royal seal and subsequent letter from Rolex confirming it to be delivered to him in Oman, one could say that this is the only real 6270 and with one of the so called "pretenders" recently being bought by a well known Italian dealer at auction for £700,000 lord only knows what this could be worth when you consider that standard Rolex's which carry his Royal seal go for triple their standard values, offers invited.....
